Bakersfield right fielder Ricardo Menéndez had 4 ribbies while helping his team defeat the Neo-Tokyo Akira, 9-1. Bakersfield reliever Jorge Gutiérrez was the winner. His record is now 2-0. The losing pitcher was Emílio Torres.

With Bakersfield leading 4-1 in the top of the sixth, Menéndez came up to bat against Neo-Tokyo pitcher Alfredo Tapia. Menéndez hit a cutter to right for a 3-run home run. His 6th home run of the season put the Bears on top, 7-1.
