Spell Swords Lick Phantoms, 11-7

With shortstop Ryo Kouda leading the charge, the Lodoss Spell Swords defeated the Toronto Phantoms, 11-7, at Phantoms Ballpark. Kouda went 3 for 4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 2. Shawn Pope, the winning pitcher, improved to 3-7. He pitched 6 innings, giving up 4 hits and 3 runs, while striking out 6 and walking 2. The last-place Spell Swords lifted their record to 21-37.
Lodoss used the hitting of Tasuku Kobayashi to pick up the win. The first baseman clubbed a 2-run single in the top of the sixth inning to put the Spell Swords on top, 7-3. For the game, Kobayashi had 1 home run and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
"We got the victory," said Kouda. "That's all that matters at the end of the day."
