|
The Seoul Crushers topped the Medicine Hat Drillers, 9-5, at Medicine Hat Municipal Stadium. Seoul second baseman Gertrudes Balazes was a spark plug for the offense. He was 2 for 3 with a home run, a double, and 2 walks. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. Takanibu Takano earned the win to go to 5-4. He allowed 5 runs on 7 hits, with 1 walk and 8 strikeouts in 7.2 innings of work. With the win, Seoul goes to 35-24, while the Drillers fall to 20-39.
Seoul used the hitting of Yosuke Sasaki to pick up the win. The catcher clubbed a grand slam home run in the top of the fifth inning to put the Crushers on top, 7-1. For the game, Sasaki had 1 home run and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
Sasaki told a Seoul Bulletin reporter that he was "very pleased" with the win.
