Drillers Come Back Late to Top Mothra, 5-2
Kumamoto got a terrific performance from pitcher Marcos Olivo, but it wasn't enough to beat the Medicine Hat Drillers. Medicine Hat won the Ibaraki Grounds contest, 5-2. Olivo threw 7.0 innings of 3-hit ball for the losing team. Takashi Nakai closed the game out for Medicine Hat, earning his 7th save. The Drillers now have a record of 19-36.

Medicine Hat took a 3-2 lead on Millard Weeks's 7th triple of the season. The 2-run triple, which Weeks hit in the top of the eighth, left Kumamoto pitcher Decheng Zhi visibly frustrated.

"I thought we played a nice game," Weeks told the Medicine Hat Daily. "Good pitching, timely hitting, it was all there."
