The Kumamoto Mothra cruised to a win over the Medicine Hat Drillers, 13-3, at Ibaraki Grounds. Alvin Dunbar, who was drafted in the 3rd round of the 2040 draft, led the way, going 3-for-4 for Kumamoto. The winner was Ramón Núñez, who threw 94 pitches over 6.2 innings. The right-hander was charged with 3 runs on 6 hits. The 4th-place Mothra have a record of 25-29.

With Kumamoto leading 1-0 in the bottom of the first, Dunbar hit a 2-run single off Medicine Hat hurler Haranobu Taniguchi. It was the 8th hit of the season for Dunbar and put his team ahead, 3-0.

"When you don't put the pitches where they're supposed to be, they hit you hard," said Medicine Hat skipper Michael Burton.
