Late Rally by Trendsetters Secures 7-6 Win
Hartford got a decent performance from pitcher Sergio Vélez, but it wasn't enough to beat the New Orleans Trendsetters. New Orleans won the Mack Stadium contest, 7-6. Vélez threw 7.0 innings allowing 3 runs for the losing team. New Orleans reliever Robert Haines was the winner. His record is now 3-3. The losing pitcher was Román Morales. Picking up the save was 27-year old right-handed pitcher Nathan Gallard.

The game was at a stalemate until third baseman Cipriano Rodríguez came to bat in the top of the eighth. Facing Hartford pitcher Román Morales, he hit a 0-2 fastball for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting New Orleans on top, 5-4.

"Nothing is scripted in this game," said Rodríguez.

New Orleans now owns a record of 14-20.
