Kings Drop Drillers, 1-0
|
In a low-scoring affair between the Red Deer Kings and the Medicine Hat Drillers, pitcher Jeremy Cruz was the difference between victory and defeat. The Red Deer left-hander earned kudos in the 1-0 Kings win. Eugenio Rodríguez earned the save for Red Deer. The Pacific Alliance Wild Rose-leading Kings have a record of 26-21.
The Kings got a big boost from designated hitter Tim Vinson who had a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the bottom of the first inning off Drillers hurler Ricardo Cantú. It was his 12th RBI of the season and put Red Deer on top, 1-0.
"There was no wiggle room in this one," said Vinson.
