Drillers Get 7-5 Win Versus Red Deer
Marcus Blackadder did all he could to help his team win. In the end, though, it wasn't enough to keep the Red Deer Kings from being beaten, 7-5, to the Medicine Hat Drillers at Kings Ballpark. Blackadder went 3-5 with a home run and a double, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. The winner was Ira Schumacher, who threw 105 pitches over 6.1 innings. The left-hander was charged with 3 runs on 7 hits. The 4th-place Drillers are now 16-29, the Kings 24-21.

Medicine Hat relied on the bat of Millard Weeks to get the win. The second baseman ripped a bases-clearing triple in the top of the second inning to put the Drillers ahead, 5-0. For the game, Weeks had 1 double and 1 triple in 5 at-bats.

"The most important thing is that we won," Weeks said.
