Calgary Triumphs with Late Surge
The Calgary Stampede faced a tough opponent in Medicine Hat pitcher Haranobu Taniguchi, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Medicine Hat Municipal Stadium by a final score of 5-3. Taniguchi went 6.1 innings and allowed 2 runs. Richard Moore, now 1-1, picked up the win in relief. He allowed no runs on 1 hit in 1.1 innings. Calgary is in second place in the Pacific Alliance Wild Rose with a record of 22-22.

Gerald White went 1-4 for Calgary. The 22-year old right fielder had a key at-bat in the top of the ninth. With one out and runners on 2nd and 3rd, he broke a 3-3 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Takashi Nakai. It was his 30th RBI of the season.

"Enjoyed this one," White told the Calgary Today. "But it's back to work tomorrow."
