The performance of Vincent Turner proved critical in helping Calgary beat Medicine Hat, 6-3, in 10 innings. The Stampede shortstop went 3-5 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 2 and driving in 4. Oliver Fell, now 2-2, picked up the win in relief. He allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2 innings. The second-place Stampede are 21-22.
Had Turner not come through in the top of the tenth, who knows how the game would've ended? But with two down, Turner hit a 3-run home run. The Stampede took the lead, 6-3, and never looked back.
"This was a tremendous character win for our team," said Calgary manager Errol Grey.
