Kumamoto pitcher Iván Enríquez did his part in helping his team beat the Laval Islanders, 4-2. The left-hander kept opposing batters from doing too much damage. Kimi Suzuki earned the save for Kumamoto, his 10th of the year. After today's action, Kumamoto sits at 17-26; Laval slips to 23-20.

Michael Barber dealt the Islanders a blow in the bottom of the seventh. Batting with the bases loaded and Kumamoto leading 3-2, Barber, who is tied for 5th in the PCAL in hits with 49, hit a 1-1 cutter for a run-scoring single.

"This game will humble you at times and you've got to buck up and deal with it," said Laval manager Ken Tuttle.
