The Lodoss Spell Swords withstood an impressive performance by Quebec City third baseman Claudio Noriega to defeat the Frenchies, 6-5, at Quebec City Ballpark. Noriega went 3-5 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2. Sun Chon, who went 6 innings, was the winning pitcher. He was charged with 2 runs on 5 hits, while walking 2 and striking out 6. His record now stands at 1-4. Perry Wichers earned the save, his 1st.

Who knows how it would've ended, had it not been for Tasuku Kobayashi? The 23-year old first baseman Kobayashi stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the ninth inning to put Lodoss up, 6-2. For the game, he was 3 for 5, including 2 doubles and 1 single.

"We put it together and came out with the win," Kobayashi said in postgame remarks. "That's the main thing."
