Seoul Gets Riveting Walk-Off Win
|
The Seoul Crushers earned a win at Crushatorium, knocking off the Kumamoto Mothra, 4-3. On the bump for Seoul was right-hander Pedro Torres. He had a starring role in the triumph. The win belonged to Ryan Coyfe in relief. His record improves to 3-0. Decheng Zhi took the loss for Kumamoto. Seoul occupies second place in the Pacific Alliance Cherry Blossom at 25-15.
In the bottom of the fifth, with one out and the game tied, 2-2, 26-year old second baseman Mike Hopewell won it for Seoul. With the bases loaded, Hopewell hit a 0-1 fastball from Marcos Olivo for a run-scoring single, giving his team the 3-2 win.
"It's the best feeling when you come through for your teammates," said Hopewell.
