Brampton pitcher Juan Rodríguez had a large part in his team beating the Calgary Stampede, 8-1. The right-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. Rodríguez yielded 1 run over 7.1 innings to notch the win. He scattered 6 hits, walked 2, and struck out 10. His record improves to 4-3. The first-place Camels bumped their record to 28-10.

Brampton shortstop Bobby Leach contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the second. With two down, he hit a curveball to left field for a run-scoring single. It was his 27th hit of the season and put the Camels ahead, 2-0.

"Juan did a really nice job of taking the ball and giving us a chance to win the game," said Brampton manager Pepe Espinosa.
