Toronto Phantoms starter Elton Kitchens turned in an exceptional performance against the Laval Islanders at Phantoms Ballpark, resulting in a Toronto win, 4-0. Toronto, at 17-20, holds down 4th place in the Pacific Alliance Maple Leaf.

The Phantoms got a big at-bat from third baseman Juan Jose Ventura. For the game, Ventura was 1-3 with a double and a walk. He drove in 2 runs. In the bottom of the third, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 2-run double. His 6th double of the season gave Toronto a 2-0 lead.

"Elton's focus was outstanding. The way he handled every moment -- when there was a little trouble, he didn't lose his tempo or his rhythm," said Toronto manager Yvon Valcourt.
