Willie O'Quinn had a big hand in the 6-5 Medicine Hat triumph over Lodoss. He rattled off 3 hits in 4 at-bats, scoring 2 times and knocking in 2 runs. Luther González was the winner. Over 7.1 innings, he yielded 4 runs on 4 hits, with 2 walks and 4 strikeouts. Takashi Nakai picked up the save for Medicine Hat, his 6th of the year.

Iván Hernández had a big 3-run home run for the Drillers in the bottom of the fourth inning. With Medicine Hat leading 1-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a screwball from 22-year old right-handed pitcher Shawn Pope and swatted a home run to right. It was his 6th home run of the season, and more importantly, it put the Drillers ahead, 4-0.

"We had situations where we should have got some runs in, but we didn't get the runs in," said losing manager Hidekazu Yamamoto.
