Drillers Lose Contest, 8-1
|
Seung-yeop Yu, who leads the PCAL in quality starts with 6, had a strong outing for the Quebec City Frenchies against the Medicine Hat Drillers at Quebec City Ballpark. The right-hander was a big part of his team's 8-1 win. Yu got the win, improving to 5-1. He gave up 2 hits and walked 4 over 6 innings. He allowed 1 run. The Frenchies sit in 5th place in the Pacific Alliance Maple Leaf with a record of 16-19.
Yoshitora Ando had a big 3-run home run for the Frenchies in the bottom of the first inning. With Quebec City leading 2-0 and runners on 1st and 3rd, he sized up a curveball from 25-year old left-handed pitcher Ira Schumacher and punished it. The result was his 3rd home run of the season, which put the Frenchies on top, 5-0.
"Seung-yeop was able to locate to both sides, up and down," said Quebec City manager Geoffrey Holland.
