Quebec City Frenchies pitcher Mario González was in top form, leading his team past the Sherwood Park Hoods, 6-1. The winner was González. He threw 7.1 innings of 5-hit ball. The loser was Miguel Alvarado. Picking up his 3rd save was fireballing 6' 7" right-hander Shumei Sakei.

Yoshitora Ando had a big solo home run for the Frenchies in the top of the fourth inning. With Quebec City leading 1-0 and the bases empty, he sized up a changeup from Miguel Alvarado, who is tied for 6th in the PCAL in quality starts with 5, and punished it. The result was his 2nd home run of the season, which put the Frenchies on top, 2-0.

"I'm proud of the way we took care of business and got the 'W' today," Ando told the Quebec City Today. "Whatever it takes."

Quebec City occupies last place in the Pacific Alliance Maple Leaf at 14-18.
