The Sherwood Park Hoods besoiled an otherwise fine performance by Quebec City designated hitter Shojiro Okada by beating the Frenchies, 5-3, at Hoods Ballpark. Okada went 3 for 4 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 times. Rory Williams, the winning pitcher, is now 1-5. He went 5.2 innings, allowing 2 runs on 4 hits, while fanning 6 and walking 3. The last-place Hoods now have a win-loss record of 8-23.

Carlos Castro had a big 3-run home run for the Hoods in the bottom of the fourth inning. With Sherwood Park trailing 2-1 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a changeup from Carlos Macías, who is tied for 2nd in the PCAL in complete games with 1, and swatted a home run to left. It was his 1st home run of the season, and more importantly, it put the Hoods ahead, 4-2.

"We did enough to win," said Castro.
