The Reno Zephyrs besoiled an otherwise fine performance by Bakersfield right fielder Ricardo Menéndez by beating the Bears, 7-6, at The Oaks at Aera Field. Menéndez belted 2 home runs, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice. Anthony Soame earned the save for Reno, his 10th of the year. The win puts Reno at 17-13.

Reno used a timely hit from Harrison Neame to get the win. The pinch hitter stroked a 2-run double in the top of the eighth inning to put the Zephyrs ahead, 6-4. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a difference-maker.

"Good teams find a way to win close games," Neame said.
