Farstriders Lose Late, 5-2
|
Charleston took on Florida in front of a lively crowd.
The Florida Farstriders got a superb performance from pitcher Miguel Boroa, but the Charleston Statesmen still won the game, 5-2. Boroa threw 6.0 innings of 4-hit ball. The win belonged to Glenn Taylor in relief. His record improves to 1-1. León Zamora took the loss for Florida.
Charleston used a timely hit from Sung-hoon O to get the win. The first baseman stroked a bases-clearing double in the top of the ninth inning to put the Statesmen ahead, 5-2. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it made an impact.
O attributed the win to "energy and focus on the part of everyone."
Losses have been rare for the Farstriders, who are now 27-6.
