Quebec City Triumphs with Late Surge

The Quebec City Frenchies faced a tough opponent in Kumamoto pitcher Juan Torres, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Quebec City Ballpark by a final score of 4-3. Torres went 8 innings and allowed 1 run. Quebec City pitcher Charles García got the win. He's now 1-0. Kimi Suzuki was tagged with the loss. Kumamoto is 4-12 after the loss.
The Frenchies were down to their last out in the bottom of the ninth inning, when 26-year old second baseman Luis Lozano landed a big blow. He turned a 2-1 fastball from Kimi Suzuki into a 2-run single. The walk-off single sent the Quebec City Ballpark denizens into a frenzy and sent the Frenchies home with a thrilling 4-3 win.
"The most important thing is that we won," Lozano said.
