The Lodoss-Toronto matchup turned into a slugfest.

The Lodoss Spell Swords downed the Toronto Phantoms, 11-10, at Forcelia Field. The Spell Swords were led by Jesús Martínez. Martínez went 3-5 with a home run and 2 doubles. He scored 2 times and drove in 5. Robert Egan picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 1-0. Walt Wright was tagged with the loss.

Chipping in for Lodoss was center fielder Peer Talboom. He stroked a run-scoring single in the bottom of the fifth. For the game, Talboom went 1 for 5.

"Guys always talk about winning games because of the 'little things,'" Talboom told the Lodoss Observer. "Call me old fashioned, but I think baseball is about the big things -- like scoring more runs."

Lodoss, now 5-8, is off to a slow start.
