The Medicine Hat Drillers topped the Kumamoto Mothra, 6-1, in Pacific Alliance action at Medicine Hat Municipal Stadium. The game was highlighted by the performance of Medicine Hat pitcher Tamotsu Nagata. Curtis Casas notched the win in relief. The right-hander allowed no runs on 3 hits in 2.2 innings. His record now sits at 1-0. With the loss, Kumamoto is 3-8.

With two out in the bottom of the seventh, Héctor Ramírez had a game-changing hit. The Drillers second baseman slammed a 2-run single off Juan Torres, making the score 4-1, Medicine Hat.

"This game will humble you real quick," said Kumamoto manager Mike Robinson.
