The Lodoss Spell Swords beat the Edmonton Mall Ratz, 10-5, at Mall Ratz Stadium. Joo-seok Yi, in particular, was impressive. He was 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Phil Glenn earned the win after being brought in from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 3.1 innings. His record is now 1-0. The Spell Swords, now 3-1, have hit the ground running this season.

Manuel Morales had a big 2-run double for the Spell Swords in the top of the fifth inning. With Lodoss leading 6-5 and runners on 2nd and 3rd, he got a curveball from 22-year old left-handed pitcher Stephen Wood and swatted a double to right. It was his 2nd double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Spell Swords ahead, 8-5.

"It doesn't matter if you're 10 games over .500 or 10 games under, it feels good to win," Morales told the Lodoss Observer.
