The Inverness Highlanders took on the Liverpool Beatles at Liverpool Baseball Stadium.
The Inverness Highlanders topped the Liverpool Beatles, 4-3, in Atlantic Alliance action at Liverpool Baseball Stadium. The game was highlighted by the performance of Inverness pitcher Michael McCarver. McCarver, now 5-5, was the winner. In 8 innings, he gave up 8 hits, while striking out 2, walking 2, and allowing 2 runs.
In the top of the first, Santos Cruz ambushed a 1-0 fastball from Kuan-tai Men and hit a 2-run home run. It gave Inverness a quick 2-0 lead.
"One win at a time, one game at a time. We try not to get too far ahead of ourselves," Cruz told the Inverness Herald.
Inverness goes to 69-70, Liverpool to 70-69.
