Beatles Nipped, 3-2, by Santurce
|
Both teams had their opportunities, but in the end, the Santurce Castillos got the win.
The Santurce Castillos picked up a win at Santurce Stadium, knocking off the Liverpool Beatles, 3-2. Starting pitcher Bruce Booth was a big reason why. The win went to Kunisada Nakada in relief, making him now 4-1. Dermott Tilbrook took the loss for Liverpool.
The Castillos relied on shortstop Dave Tapia for the game-winning hit. And, in the bottom of the tenth, he delivered, hitting a run-scoring single to seal the deal.
After the game, Santurce manager Pepe Rico applauded the team's effort. "They busted their humps out there," he said.
The win makes Santurce 67-70.
