Insurers 2-1 Losers to Youngstown

The Youngstown Thunder went home winners at Cyclones Stadium, thanks in large part to starter Douggie Tunstall. Tunstall stifled the Omaha Insurers, enabling Youngstown to grab the 2-1 win. Tunstall yielded no runs over 5.1 innings to notch the win. He scattered 6 hits, walked 0, and struck out 6. His record improves to 3-1. Emory Gilbert was called on to finish, recording his 1st save.
Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Ricardo Hernández? The Youngstown right fielder had a run-scoring double in the top of the third inning to put the Thunder on top, 1-0. For the game, Hernández had 1 double and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"They were just a little bit better than us," Omaha manager Naozane Watanabe said.
Youngstown, at 64-70, occupies 5th place in the Atlantic Alliance North.
