Charles Grodin impressed in the 9-2 Omaha win over Youngstown. Grodin slugged 2 home runs, while scoring 3 and driving in 3. Chris Abbott was the winner. He's now 5-4. The loser was 25-year old right-handed pitcher Je-won Kim. By defeating Youngstown, the last-place Insurers improved to 55-77.

In the bottom of the third, Grodin had a 2-run home run for Omaha. It was his 2nd home run of the season and put the Insurers on top, 2-0.
