Zephyrs Lose, 2-0, at The Oaks at Aera Field

Bakersfield right-hander Jorge Alonso pitched his team to victory over the Reno Zephyrs at The Oaks at Aera Field. The final score was 2-0. Despite the win, Bakersfield, now 9-21, is off to a terrible start.
Stef Evers had a big solo home run for the Bears in the bottom of the sixth inning. With Bakersfield leading 1-0 and the bases empty, he got a fastball from Carmelo Lamberti, who finished 2nd in the SL in wins with 17 in 2039, and swatted a home run to right-center. It was his 1st home run of the season, and more importantly, it put the Bears ahead, 2-0.
"I tried to mix it up, keep them off balance," said Alonso.
