The Omaha Insurers downed the Den Bosch Dykes, 8-2, at Cyclones Stadium. Ramón Bochi led the way, going 2-for-4 for Omaha. The winner in relief was José López. He is now 5-4. The right-hander allowed no runs on 2 hits in 3.2 innings. With the victory, the Insurers record stands at 54-77.
The Insurers got a big hit from first baseman Millard Gordon. In the bottom of the seventh, Gordon smacked a 2-run home run off Den Bosch pitcher Armando Velásquez. It was his 10th home run of the season. Suddenly, the Insurers were ahead, 3-2.
"We'll put this win in our pocket and go after the next one," said Bochi.
