Conditions were not ideal but Maine and Inverness were able to put their game in the books.

The Maine Lobsters racked up a win at The Fortress at Inverness, bumping off the Inverness Highlanders, 5-1. Kai Broster, who started for Maine, pitched effectively for his team. Broster yielded 1 run over 7.1 innings to notch the win. He scattered 3 hits, walked 3, and struck out 3. His record improves to 1-1.

The Highlanders had been locked in a 1-1 tie with the Lobsters going into the top of the sixth inning. That changed quickly when the 21-year old first baseman Lewis Scarth came to the plate. Scarth hit a 2-run double on a 1-0 cutter from Inverness hurler Ed Moore. It was Scarth's 14th double of the year.

"Solid game, solid win tonight," said a smiling Broster.

The Lobsters, at 77-51, sit in second place in the Atlantic Alliance North.
