Scranton Collects 3-2 Win
|
In a tight tilt between the Scranton Scary Monsters and the Port-au-Prince Bokors, Nelson Márquez was the deciding factor. The Scranton right-hander spearheaded the 3-2 win. Márquez, now 10-6, was the winner. In 8 innings, he gave up 8 hits, while striking out 5, walking 0, and allowing 2 runs. Kyuso Ichihara picked up the save for Scranton, his 5th of the year.
The Scary Monsters got a big hit from center fielder Toby Clark. Facing Port-au-Prince pitcher Mark Thompson in the bottom of the fifth, Clark pounded a 2-run double to left-center. His 19th double of the season put the Scary Monsters ahead, 3-2.
"I just tried to make good contact," said Clark.
At 71-55, the Scary Monsters are currently third in the Atlantic Alliance North.
