Portland got a decent performance from pitcher Jerome Evans, but it wasn't enough to beat the Sacramento Deltas. Sacramento won the Kauffman Stadium contest, 3-1. Evans threw 6.1 innings of 2-hit ball for the losing team. Juan Otero picked up the save for Sacramento, his 8th of the year. Portland falls to 15-12.

The Deltas got a big at-bat from first baseman Pedro Flores. For the game, Flores went 1 for 4 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the top of the third, with a runner on 2nd, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 4th home run of the season gave Sacramento a 2-1 lead.

"I just tried to see the ball and put a good swing on it," said Flores.
