Li-zhu Ho never let Beaufort get something going. The Delaware left-hander commanded his sinker in pitching the Diamonds to a 2-1 win. Delaware, at 51-62, sits in 5th place in the Atlantic Alliance North.
The decisive blow was delivered by Mauro Chávez in the bottom of the ninth when he hit a run-scoring double off 25-year old left-handed pitcher Naofumi Okamoto to win the game for Delaware. The home crowd went nuts.
"Li-zhu gave us a heck of an effort," said Delaware manager Francisco Escobar.
