Hampton Gets 6-2 Win Against Thunder
The Hampton Airborne got a marvelous performance from pitcher Frank Johnson. The left-hander kept the Youngstown offense from ever getting much traction. The result was an impressive 6-2 Hampton victory at Airborne Ballpark. Johnson yielded 1 run over 6.1 innings to notch the win. He scattered 2 hits, walked 2, and struck out 6. His record improves to 2-9. Despite the win, Hampton still has a pathetic 23-79 record.

The Airborne got a big at-bat from second baseman Dermott Douglass. For the game, Douglass went 1 for 4 with a double. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the first, with the bases loaded, he stroked a 2-run double. His 12th double of the season gave Hampton a 2-0 lead.

In postgame comments, Johnson told the Hampton Times: "Do people still doubt I give 100 percent?"
