Win Lifts Seagulls to 57-45
|
Behind the hitting of William Russell, the Narragansett Seagulls stopped the Omaha Insurers, 9-3. Russell went 2-4 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 3 for the Seagulls. Juan Aguilar earned the win, while 23-year old right-handed pitcher Eric Grimes took the loss for Omaha. The win puts Narragansett at 57-45 this season.
With Narragansett leading 2-1 in the top of the third, Russell hit a slider from Eric Grimes for a 3-run home run. It was his 24th home run of the season and put the Seagulls ahead, 5-1.
"We played hard and won," said Russell. "Sometimes, baseball really is that easy.'
