Juan Vega, despite pitching a good game, was disappointed in the outcome: a tough, 3-2, defeat for the Bowling Green Rebels at the hands of the Youngstown Thunder at Thunder Ballpark. Cristián Castillo earned the win after being summoned from the bullpen. The left-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 1.2 innings. He upped his record to 4-1. Earning his 2nd save for Youngstown was Félix Crisanto.

With scoring opportunities rare, the Thunder had to cash in when they had the chance. One such opportunity presented itself in the bottom of the third, when left fielder Paul Holmes hit a run-scoring single. The single came off Juan Vega and made the score 2-1, Thunder. Holmes was 2 for 4 with 2 singles.

"No one player deserves all the credit when you win," Holmes said. "And the same is true when you lose."

Youngstown now sports a record of 47-54.
