Fans were not deterred by the threat of rain. They came to see their hometown Youngstown Thunder take on the Bowling Green Rebels.

Though he had a terrific game, Glenn Smith could not prevent his team, the Bowling Green Rebels, from absorbing a loss. Youngstown won the game, 6-5. Smith went 3-4 with a triple and 2 singles. He scored 2 times. The win was credited to Dave Hartman in relief. His record improves to 5-5. Austin Hawkins took the loss.

Youngstown took a 6-5 lead on Ricardo Hernández's 8th home run of the season. The 2-run home run, which Hernández hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Bowling Green pitcher Austin Hawkins visibly frustrated.

"Anytime I can help the team, I feel good about it," said Hernández.

The Thunder improved their record to 46-54 with the win over Bowling Green.
