Lobsters Earn 4-3 Win Versus Seagulls
|
Maine pitcher Pete Card had a large part in his team beating the Narragansett Seagulls, 4-3. The right-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. Sergio Esparza, now 7-4, was credited with the win in 3 innings of relief. He allowed no runs on 1 hit, while striking out 3 and walking 1. The Lobsters sit in second place in the Atlantic Alliance North with a record of 51-36.
Liang-hsi Lok clinched the win with a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the bottom of the 14th. In the game, the Maine right fielder was 1 for 1.
Narragansett manager Oscar Jackson said he was "mildly disappointed" with the loss. "We had our opportunities, but we didn't take advantage of them," he said.
