The Youngstown Thunder had no problem beating the Omaha Insurers, 18-1, at Thunder Ballpark. Ricardo Hernández led the onslaught. He was 4-6 with a home run and 3 singles. He scored 2 times and drove in 6 for Youngstown. Youngstown reliever Dave Hartman got the win, raising his record to 4-5. José Flores was tagged with the loss. Youngstown bumps their record to 42-46 with the win.

With Youngstown leading 14-1 in the bottom of the eighth, Hernández came up to bat against Omaha pitcher Ryoichi Sano. Hernández hit a changeup to right for a grand slam home run. His 7th home run of the season put the Thunder on top, 18-1.

"This game will humble you real quick," said Omaha manager Naozane Watanabe.
