Omaha Falls Again, 7-3
|
Ronald Mitchell, who is tied for 5th in the ATAL in innings pitched with 118.1, was locked in. The left-hander led the Den Bosch Dykes to a 7-3 win against the Omaha Insurers at Den Bosch Park. The winning pitcher was Mitchell, now 9-2. He tossed 6.2 innings of 4-hit ball, while walking 2 and fanning 9. The losses continue to mount for Omaha, which has now dropped 6 in a row.
The Dykes got a big at-bat from right fielder Robin López. For the game, López went 2-3 with a triple, a double, and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the first, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 2-run triple. His 1st triple of the season gave Den Bosch a 2-0 lead.
"It's a mindset," said Mitchell. "Just trying to do your job, trying to be consistent."
