In 10, Narragansett Beats Camden, 7-6
|
The Narragansett Seagulls and the Camden Consigliere played into extra innings before the winner was determined. The Seagulls won it, 7-6, in 10 innings. In the game, Narragansett left fielder William Russell was 1 for 5 with a home run. He drove in 5 runs and scored once. The save went to Kyoshi Murakami, his 17th this season. The second-place Consigliere dropped to 49-31.
Narragansett used the timely hitting of Randy Horton to seize the win. The center fielder stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the tenth inning to put the Seagulls on top, 7-6. It was his only hit in 2 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"Took some scratching and clawing," said Russell. "But we got it done."
