The Youngstown Thunder defeated the Liverpool Beatles by the score of 7-3, with the biggest share of the credit going to first baseman Raúl Chávez. Chávez went 3-4 with a double and 2 singles for the Thunder on the day. Norberto Soto earned the save, his 5th in 5 tries. Youngstown currently is in 5th place in the Atlantic Alliance North at 35-41.

Paul Holmes had a big 2-run double for the Thunder in the bottom of the first inning. With Youngstown leading 1-0 and runners on 2nd and 3rd, he got a fastball from 30-year old right-handed pitcher David Cruz and swatted a double to left. It was his 2nd double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Thunder ahead, 3-0.

"I'm proud of the way our guys played today to come out with this win," Holmes told the Youngstown Citizen.
