Seagulls Roast Thunder, 12-3
|
The Narragansett Seagulls handed the Youngstown Thunder a sound defeat, 12-3, at Narragansett Stadium. Santiago Villarreal was a main contributor to the win. He was 4 for 5 with 4 singles, while scoring 3 runs for Narragansett. Narragansett now sits at 41-32, while Youngstown falls to 33-40.
Sadaharu Okamura had a big bases-clearing double for the Seagulls in the bottom of the second inning. With Narragansett leading 4-2 and the bases loaded, he got a fastball from 25-year old right-handed pitcher Félix Crisanto and swatted a double to left. It was his 22nd double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Seagulls ahead, 7-2.
"We had a good plan and executed it," said winning manager Oscar Jackson.
