Daikawa Hits Two Homers in 6-2 Win for Reno
|
The bad news for the Bakersfield Bears: an opening day loss, 6-2, to the Reno Zephyrs at The Oaks at Aera Field. The good news: it was just game one in a long season. No one played better than Kenkichi Daikawa. He slugged 2 home runs, while adding 5 RBI and scoring twice.
With Reno leading 3-2 in the top of the ninth, Daikawa hit a changeup from José López for a 3-run home run. It was his 2nd home run of the season and put the Zephyrs ahead, 6-2.
Daikawa called the win the result of "everyone being in sync."
