Codgers Suffer 6-4 Road Loss

Reggie Raines did all he could to help his team win. In the end, though, it wasn't enough to keep the Palm Springs Codgers from being beaten, 6-4, to the Tempe Apollos at Gisolo-Duppa Field. Raines was 3-3 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Tempe reliever Fortunato Carona was the winner. His record is now 4-0. Bertrand Baverstock took the loss. The loss puts Palm Springs at 17-8.
Tempe took the lead, 6-4, on Ramón Torres's 1st home run of the season. The 2-run home run came off Palm Springs pitcher Bertrand Baverstock in the bottom of the seventh.
"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," Torres told the Tempe Herald.
