Inverness and Monterey took Mother Nature's best shot and still managed to complete their ballgame.

The Inverness Highlanders overcame a pretty good performance by Monterey left fielder Robert Escobedo, beating the Sea Lions, 7-6, at The Fortress at Inverness. Escobedo was 3 for 5 with a double and 2 singles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. The winner was Jack Reid in relief. His record improves to 2-0. Joe Walker took the loss.

Jonathan Poskitt was the walk-off hero for Inverness. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Highlanders first baseman hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.

"We couldn't have scripted it any better," Poskitt said in his postgame press conference.

Inverness, now 30-29, holds down third place in the Atlantic Alliance Euro-Caribbean.
