Inverness beat Monterey at The Fortress at Inverness, eking out a 6-5 win. The win was due in large part to first baseman Jonathan Poskitt. He went 1-4 with a home run, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. The win went to Zhuo-cheng Ow in relief. His record improves to 1-1. Vincente González took the loss. José Romero finished the game for Inverness and earned his 9th save.

Had Poskitt not come through in the bottom of the seventh, who knows how the game would've ended? But with two down, Poskitt hit a grand slam home run. The Highlanders took the lead, 6-5, and never looked back.

"It's good to win," Poskitt told the Inverness Herald. "I like to have fun doing it."

Inverness now sports a record of 28-29.
