Downward Spiral Continues for Hampton
|
The Maine Lobsters knocked off the Hampton Airborne, 6-3, in Atlantic Alliance action at Ballpark of Maine. Maine pitcher and Reno, Nevada, native Norbert Bowling had an outstanding performance. Bowling got the win, improving to 5-2. He gave up 3 hits and walked 1 over 5.1 innings. He allowed 1 run. Brendon Carr finished to wrap up his 16th save.
Paul Carruthers, who leads the ATAL in bases on balls with 35, chipped in a solo home run for Maine in the bottom of the fifth. For the game, the first baseman had 3 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 2 singles, 1 run scored, and 1 RBI.
"We bring energy to every game," said losing manager Josh Gunter. "But it's got to translate into wins."
The misery never ends for the Airborne, who've lost 13 in a row.
