The Omaha Insurers got a magnificent performance from pitcher Chris Abbott, who muffled the Inverness offense en route to a tight, 2-1 Insurers win at Cyclones Stadium. After today's action, Omaha sits at 22-33; Inverness slips to 27-29.
Abbott, a native of Gahanna, Ohio, was dealing all game. He kept Inverness hitters off-balance, while giving the Insurers 8 quality innings. Abbott threw 83 pitches, allowing 5 hits and striking out 9.
